BIOGRAPHY THE RAMONES

In the mid-'70s the Ramones shaped the sound of punk rock in New York with simple, fast songs, deadpan lyrics, no solos, and an impenetrable wall of guitar chords. The cultural importance of the Ramones became most apparent in 2001, when leader Joey Ramone was eulogized not only in the rock press but the New York Times and other general media.

The group formed in 1974 after the foursome graduated or left high school in Forest Hills, New York. The original lineup featured Joey on drums, Dee Dee sharing guitar with Johnny, and Tommy as manager, but they soon settled on their recording setup.

In 1976 Ramones was a definitive punk statement, with songs like “Beat on the Brat,” “Blitzkrieg Bop,” and “Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue”- 14 of them, clocking in at under 30 minutes. The group traveled to England in 1976, giving the nascent British punk scene the same boost they had provided to New Yorkers. Before the year was out, Ramones Leave Home had been released. As throughout its career, the band toured almost incessantly. With their next two singles, the group began to soften their sound slightly.

After Subterranean Jungle, Marky Ramone departed, to be replaced by ex-Velveteens Richard Beau. As Richie Ramone, the drummer played on four albums, before Marky returned in 1987. Too Tough to Die, with Eurythmic Dave Stewart producing the pop single “Howling at the Moon,” recaptured some of their ’70s energy, and “Bonzo Goes to Bitburg” off Animal Boy offered cutting political satire.

In 1989 the Ramones gained their widest exposure with the title track to the soundtrack for Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, but also underwent their most significant internal shift. Dee Dee departed, first to record, as Dee Dee King, a rap album, Standing in the Spotlight, and then to form the rock group Chinese Dragons. His post-Ramones career included publishing the autobiography Poisoned Heart: Surviving the Ramones and, in the late ’90s, playing with his wife, Barbara, and Marky Ramone in the Ramones spinoff unit, the Ramainz. AWOL from the marines at the time he enlisted in the band, C.J. Ramone infused youthful energy - he was 14 years younger than Joey and Johnny - but the band’s sound remained the same.

Marky formed Marky Ramone and the Intruders and has released two albums to date. Joey went on to manage the Independents, a horror-punk-ska band, to act in the indie film Final Rinse, and, in 1999, to coproduce a Ronnie Spector EP, She Talks to Rainbows. The U.S. Congress proclaimed May 19, 2001, Joey Ramone Day. After being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in March 2002, fellow Ramones Dee Dee and Johnny soon passed away; Dee Dee from a heroin overdose on June 5, 2002 and Johnny from prostate cancer on September 15, 2004.

…………..Blues has evolved from an unaccompanied vocal music and oral traditions of African-American slaves (imported from West Africa; principally Mali, Senegal; the Gambia and Ghana) and rural blacks into a wide variety of styles and subgenres, with regional variations across the United States and, later, Europe and Africa. The musical forms and styles that are now considered the "blues" as well as modern "country music" arose in the same regions during the nineteenth century in the southern United States. Recorded blues and country can be found from as far back as the 1920s, when the popular record industry developed and created marketing categories called "race music" and "hillbilly music" to sell music by blacks for blacks and by whites for whites, respectively…………………………………………….

Blues banyak dipengaruhi oleh Robert Johnson, sebenarnya Robert Johnson bukanlah tokoh utama music Blues yang pertama kali masuk music recording company. Namun, anda tahu Bottleneck Triplet? Dialah yang pertama. Ada beberapa nama dibalik lahirnya music Blues seperti Blind Blake, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charley Patton. Setelah nama – nama awal tersebut, muncul pada tahun 1940 sampai dengan 1950an para pemain BLUES dengan menggunakan gitar elektrik seperti Albert King, Muddy Waters, BB King, dan John Lee Hooker (para pemain ini mempengaruhi sekali lick pentatonic dari Bon Jovi). Seiring perkembangan music Blues, pada tahun 1960an sound gitar dari music Blues ini menjadi lebih keras dan para pemain Blues pada era ini menjadi lebih flamboyan seperti Albert Collins dan Freddie King. Sekitar tahun 1965, orang inggris datang ke Amerika yang membantu persilangan antara music Blues, music R&B,dan music Rock sperti Led Zeppelin yang beraliran Music Blues Rock. Sebenarnya banyak pemain pada era tahun 60an yang menjadi pemain Blues seperti Jimmy page, Jimi Hendrix (semua pemain gitar pasti mengenal sosok Jimi Hendrix), Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Rory Callagher. Pada era tahun 80an, sedikit pemain yang terus memainkan Blues authentic, sound gitar pada era ini sangat megah dengan tingkat kepiawaian teknis yang diatas era sebelumnya seperti Robben Ford, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Healey dan juga Gary Moore.(Vian/KLIKfour)

Eric Clapton known for his performances with the Blues Breakers and Cream, made a comeback in the 1990s with his album Unplugged, in which he played some standard blues numbers on acoustic guitar………………

MUSIC AND CBGB

music and CBGB , a then-little-known music rock club, was founded in December 1973, on the site of Kristal's earlier bar, Hilly's on the Bowery, which he ran from 1969 to 1972. Originally, Kristal had focused on his more profitable West Village nightspot, Hilly's, but complaints from the bar's neighbors forced Hilly's to close, leading its owner to concentrate on the Bowery club. The full name is CBGB & OMFUG which stands for "Country Bluegrass Blues and Other music For Uplifting Gormandizers". Gormandizer usually means a ravenous eater of food, but according to Kristal here it means "a voracious eater of ... music ". The club was also affectionately called simply "CB's". As its name implied, Kristal intended the bar to feature Country, Bluegrass and Blues music (along with poetry readings), but it became famous as the birthplace of the American punk movement.

CBGB (Country, Blue Grass, and Blues) adalah suatu club music yang berada di 315 Bowery, Bleeckerin streets, of Manhattan New York City. Pada akhir 80-an, studio rekaman tersebut ditutup dan digantikan ruang pertunjukan music kedua setelah CBGB, dan juga gallery seni, yang dinamakan CB’s 313 Gallery. Gallery tersebut telah banyak menampilkan band-band popular juga penyanyi dan penulis lagu yang mempunyai gaya ber music seperti acoustic rock, folk, jazz, atau experimental music. Namun CBGB sebagai ruang pertunjukan yang utama tetap menampilkan music - music keras yang terbaik seperti post-punk, metal dan alternative rock dll.

Club tersebut ditutup pada oktober 2006, konser terakhir dengan penampilan Patti Smith pada hari minggu 15 oktober 2006. CBGB Fashions (the store, wholesale department, and online store) tetap ada sampai 31 oktober 2006 di 315 Bowery. Kecuali bernyanyi karena para pedagang budak tersebut takut para budak menyusun pemberontakan. Dari sanalah para budak Afrika Tersebut membawa nyanyian mereka ke Eropa bersama pedagang budak. Setiap hari minggu para budak bertemu di Gereja dan menyanyikan lagu kebebasan. Dari sanalah asal mula music hip hop.

Pada era tahun 1979 music hip hop menjadi lebih komersil masuk ke industri music Amerika. Memasuki era tahun 1990 music hip hop menjadi kontroversi karena lirik-lirik lagu mereka banyak yang menceritakan tentang kekerasan, penggunaan obat-obatan terlarang, dan pelacuran. Dan ketika era tahun 2000 music hip hop lebih populer lagi dengan berbagai macam gaya dan lebih luas tidak hanya di Amerika.
